Back to the fine weather as we head towards Manchester.

There was still a cool breeze today, but thinning cloud allowed the sun to shine through and warm things up nicely. We left Moore at just after 10, heading into the built up area around south of Warrington.

Contractors were about on the towpath, cutting back the trees…IMG_4214

Just coming in to Higher Walton we spotted our first batch of ducklings this year.

Good to see Thorne Marine is still trading.IMG_4216
They’ve been under threat of non-renewal of their lease for the last few years. Peel Holdings own the land and want to redevelop it. We often stop here for diesel, but having filled up from Alton the other day we cruised past today.

Lymm was quiet today.

Long views to the northIMG_4227

We pulled in a couple of miles from Lymm, near Ye Olde No3 pub. We’ve a Tesco delivery here in the morning.

Locks 0, miles 9½
