Willington for the weekend and an anniversary of sorts.

On Friday we cruised into Willington, luckily finding a mooring just past Bridge 23. It was a fine day, with good sunny spells, but the forecasted wind was starting to rise by the time we’d moored up.

I was glad to get moored up here, we were only staying the weekend then turning around, and the winding hole and services were just a few yards ahead.

I went for a trip up to the Co-op, forgetting that it had moved last year to a new site on the Repton Road. The old shop is an Indian restaurant now.

We stayed put through Saturday, avoiding the bad weather although it wasn’t as bad here as elsewhere. Then yesterday morning I kept an eye on the service wharf, moving up and turning around to reverse on to it as soon as it was vacant.

With water filled and rubbish disposed of we retraced our steps back towards Burton, stopping once again just beyond Coach and Horses Bridge, number 25.

We’ll stay here for a few days, we’re killing time till next Monday when we’re to meet with Dave and Barbara on Liberty Bell for a cruise up to Newark.

It’s 13 years ago almost to the day since we set off on our maiden voyage on Seyella. We’d had a short shakedown cruise prior to this after taking possession on the 5th, but this was the first proper trip we’d made. The blog style has changed in the intervening period as has the boat and the crew. We’re all a little longer in the tooth… But Seyella seems to be aging more gracefully than me. Mags hardly changes at all, I don’t know how she does it.

OIC you're waiting to cruise down to Newark... well that's good because it gives the bakery time to rectify this problem...

Might see you next weekend then if production returns to normal... BTW it's cream donughts that keep Mags looking so fantastic :)

Hi Richard, sorry we missed you at Fradley, always the way, eh. Maybe next time...
Sue, less of the olduns! Although we have been at it a while now, eh. Yours was one of the first blogs we read all that time ago. Saw Andrew Denny (Granny Buttons) the other day too.
Wow, KevinToo, that's disastrous. I trust production is back up to speed again now. We'll be on a mission heading up to Newark, our friends need to be there come Friday. But we'll be making a leisurely trip back afterwards, so can arrange to meet up later in the month.

Reading your blog as I do periodically is coincidental, because I am now moored up in Willington right now, having passed you by yesterday moored up by Bridge 25. My first time here and I do like it a lot, despite the rain chucking it down at the moment, but I shall get wet inside later. Which is the best pub here in your opinion? It it safe to moor in Burton for the day to visit the Bass Museum and Marstons.

Glad we cleared that up then!
Doesn't look like Andrew's going far at the moment, he was heading up to Shobnall for a boat service then came down to Willington.

What boat was he on Geoff?
